Last spring Teosto started a project to increase both policymakers’ and the public’s knowledge of the conditions of creative work. The project proceeds one constituency at a time. Now in turn was Tampere Region, and the district’s MFPs were “adopted” by Pauli Hanhiniemi, Vesa-Pekka ”Costello” Hautamäki, Jouni Kaipainen, Petri Koskimäki, Ville Leinonen, Sari ”Saana” Matala, Jouko Mäki-Lohiluoma, Jukka ”Frogley” Mänty-Sorvari, Antti Nissilä, Arto Piispanen, Heikki Salo, Hannu Sepponen, Pekka Simojoki, Mikko ”Pantse” Syrjä, Seppo Tammilehto, Tellu Turkka and Jukka Viitasaari. Each one of them will invite their own MFP for an excursion to creative work. Getting to know music authors event was organized on April 12th in Tampere as part of the project. The performances of the music authors and MFP-interviews lured the public to discuss copy rights. In the seminar the local music users’ – radio and festival producers – opinions on new music were heard, as well as the local music authors’ panel discussion. For professional music authors the project gives a chance to be heard, and get MFPs acquainted to their everyday life and work. Each MFP will be adopted by a music author from the same voting district as the project proceeds. The project started last spring at Tikkurila in Vantaa, and the next to adopt MFPs will be music authors of Oulu Region. They will be meeting public at the next Getting to know music authors event on May 24th in Oulu. In the pictures: Above: Getting to know music authors event got MFP’s and music authors together.
