Music samples
• Music samples are extracts from works of music.
• A music sample may last no more than 60 sec or 1/3 of the duration of the work, whichever is shorter.
• Music samples must be made available to users for free.
• Music samples posted on a website may be audio or video samples.
• The samples may be both streamed and downloadable: as background music to a web page or as part of a blog.
• Teosto issues licences on behalf of its author customers (composers, lyricists, publishers). Any other licences must be applied fro separately.
• Fill in the licence application in duplicate and mail it to Teosto.

• If the combined duration of music samples exceeds 30 minutes, the fee must be negotiated separately. The minimum billing is the fee for one month according to the combined number of music samples posted. These fees are valid as of 1 January 2008.
VAT at 9% will be added to the above fees.

If you use only one work of music on your website, you need a separate permission from the rightholder. Ads >

If you are an author customer of Teosto, you may post your own unpublished works on your website.
