Senior Manager/Digital Licensing
At Teosto we are looking for an experienced professional to work in the dynamic and exciting field of digital licensing.
As a Senior Manager you will be responsible for managing and developing Teosto’s digital licensing and negotiations with our customers such as leading digital music service providers and media houses. Your goal is also to assure that the relevant back-office operations regarding digital licensing are running smoothly. One of your key targets is to improve our customer satisfaction.
In your role you will have a chance to work with new and upcoming music and media products that our customers are launching into the market. These customers include major international and domestic companies in the fields of digital music services and telecommunications as well as start-ups. Your main task is to coordinate the development of licensing services and to ensure our customer’s licensing needs are met.
You will also have a key role in managing and coordinating our rights flow and back-end processes necessary to digital licensing, to serve both our customers who are using music in their businesses as well as music authors who we represent.
As an experienced professional in your field you’ll keep us one step ahead of service development and ensure our licensing deals are answering to the market needs. You will negotiate complex commercial and contractual issues for licensing deals that secure a fair remuneration for the music authors Teosto represents.
To help you succeed in this versatile and challenging role you will have a small licensing team to work with you. Your team will work closely together also with other teams within Teosto, such as Legal, Service Development, Matching and Distribution, Rights & Repertoires and Sales. You will report to the Director of Legal and Membership Affairs.
We expect you to have:
- A University degree. Ideal combination for this post might be a sales oriented lawyer.
- Experience in developing and maintaining commercial relationships, ideally relationships operating across multiple territories
- Proven track record of succeeding in complex negotiations and strong influencing skills
- Knowledge of and an interest in the online and mobile industries, markets and value chains
- Strong management and preferably also leadership skills
- Creative problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative
- Proven ability to deliver results under pressure and meet financial targets
- First class communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive “can do” attitude
- Relevant work experience, also from leading teams
You work fluently in English and Finnish. Understanding of rights and royalty flow and a basic understanding of copyright licensing (e.g. music publishing) would be an asset. We also value experience working for the Online/TV/Entertainment industry and/or Music Licensing.
