The rights administered by Teosto are divided into categories in the member agreement. Rights can only be withdrawn according to these categories.
This categorisation was approved in Teosto’s General Meeting held on 26 April 2017.
How to withdraw categories from Teosto administration
Teosto members, who have conveyed copyrights to Teosto’s administration, can withdraw categories of rights or geographical areas you have previously relinquished to Teosto’s administration (partial termination of the client agreement).
The withdrawal of rights or geographical areas is applicable to all the works covered by the Client Agreement at a given time. After the withdrawal, Teosto will no longer collect or distribute royalties for the use of music belonging to the withdrawn category of rights for the geographical area you have selected. Withdrawing rights or geographical areas requires that you have no outstanding receivables due for Teosto.
Please note that withdrawing categories or geographical areas from Teosto’s administration might require permission from other entities that own copyrights in your work, such as authors of a joint work or publishers.
Withdrawing rights or geographical areas from Teosto’s administration and conveying supplemental copyrights to Teosto’s administration is done via forms that are found on our website.
