TV advertisements delivered to Spotgate without music information
Upon request, we can provide email lists of the spots uploaded to the Spotgate advertising logistics platform to media composers and publishers who are our customers.
Please note that we do not provide lists for advertisements whose complaint period (approx. 30 days after each distribution) has already expired. You can see the payment calendar below.
If you need these lists, please send us an email at omateosto@teosto.fi with the subject line Spotgate lists, and specify in your message which months you need.
You may receive distribution for music used in TV commercials when:
- The music used in the commercial has been registered on time
- The commercial has been broadcast nationwide in Finland
- The person who uploaded the commercial to the Spotgate TV advertising logistics system has also entered the music information in Spotgate so that the broadcasts could automatically be matched with the correct musical works based on the data, OR
- Missing music information in Spotgate is reported to Teosto in time for distribution processing and the broadcasts can be matched with the correct musical works based on the information
Submitting Music Information for TV Commercials
Adding music information to the Spotgate delivery system for TV commercials is the responsibility of the production companies, and they have been given instructions on how the information must be reported. Since information may still be missing or incorrectly submitted, the media composer or publisher may, if necessary, report the missing information or correct inaccurate information by sending an email to spotgate@teosto.fi.
Following details must be included in your email:
- Name of the advertisement
- Spotgate ID of the advertisement
- Name of the musical work used in the advertisement (the same as in the work registration)
- Check in our web service that the work can be found in your My Works list
- Work number (in the work registration and under the work name in the work listing)
- Music author information: name of the composer, lyricist, arranger and the possible publisher
- Duration of the music used in the advertisement
Music Information Deadlines
Music information for advertisements broadcast during:
- January–March must be submitted by 30 April
- Distributed in September
- June must be submitted by 31 August
- Distributed in December
- July–September must be submitted by 31 October
- Distributed in March of the following year
- October–December must be submitted by 31 January of the following year
- Distributed in June
If information requires additional clarification during report processing, the payment of royalties will likely be postponed to the next distribution. The Payment Calendar shows in which distribution the royalties for different broadcasts and time periods are generally paid.
NOTE: Complaints for missing broadcasts must be submitted approx. 30 days after each distribution at the latest. If the reporting deadline has already passed, submit a complaint after the distribution in which the broadcast would have been paid according to the Payment Calendar. More information on complaints.
