Teosto members receive 10,5 million euros in December distribution

The December distribution was paid on 15 Dec 2017. The distribution included royalties to both Teosto’s national and international rightholder members. The total sum of December’s distribution is M€ 10.5.

The distribution includes royalties from the following categories and date

 

Of the distribution categories, the fastest growing is Commercial Video on Demand (VoD). Total sum of VoD distributions in December was MEUR 1.69. For Netflix, the level of compensation and number of users have been growing. Teosto members also received royalties from HBO for the first time in the December distribution.

In December Teosto members received MEUR 1.5 in royalties for the performance of their works abroad, MEUR 1.17 for the use of music on Yle radio stations and MEUR 0.76 fin royalties from commercial radio stations. Also the royalties for background music, based on radio, were included in the December distribution and amounted to MEUR 1.13. The royalties in this category will continue to be distributed quarterly.
